Join Us and Wage Peace in the World

Peace Programs

Since its founding, Carterhas sought to wage peace and build hope through the mediation and prevention of conflicts and the promotion of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Our peace programs use data to inform our work and specifically focus on locally led development, gender and inclusion, and addressing the effects of climate change.

To gain a deeper understanding of our peace programs’ goals and priorities, please take a look at the Center's Peace Programs Strategic Plan.

“The experience of democracy is like the experience of life itself—always changing, infinite in its variety, sometimes turbulent and all the more valuable for having been tested by adversity.”-Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter
